Rating:

The silence of words is the typical book that enters the eye, since I saw the cover fell in love and I knew that sooner or then need to read it.

Kimberly The novel narrates in first person as she is the undisputed star. From the preface tells us that his gift is dancing or painting, his gift is to study. Learns quickly and is the first of its kind in Hong Kong, but now must leave all he knows to travel with her mother to New York in order to improve their lives.
The arrival of two of the country can not be less daunting when faced with the floor that corresponds to them is almost in ruins and Kimberly's mother must work as a slave in a garment factory.

Throughout history we will know as the child gets used to his new life but his mother always makes it clear that should not forget their origins or mixed too much with American children. If it does become like them and then What will it different?

Kimberly lives and forth between two worlds, thanks to his brilliant mind is doing very well at school but his teammates can not be lying to say that despite have only eleven years each night to accompany his mother to the clothing factory to get the job and to have money to eat.

The silence of words is a moving novel that speaks of second chances, social differences and especially the struggle of a girl by getting used to their new circumstances and try to highlight progress and to deliver his mother's life he lives.

Over three hundred pages we will see a remarkable evolution in the Kimberley and its surroundings. Know parts of their culture and traditions, fears, aspirations, and her first love.

The novel I simply love it. The writing of the author is simply and without artifice that makes you hooked from the first pages, and get involved fully in the life of Kimberly. I was impossible not to read it.
